Debt is easy to get into, but hard to prevent. There are many different bills that people pay, for. I been trying to grow my own food with little success, and it is nowhere near good enough, for me. I think I know why I failed at growing my food, so I am in the process of doing window shopping until I find what I am looking, for. Trying to knock off the food bill should help me quite a bit, but this is taking time, for me to learn, and I did waste some money in the process. Paying rent is like a stepping stone, for some people, and, for others it could be a life long life style. Regarding myself I am trying to reduce the cost of living, and I think the cost of living probably will continue increasing. Renting is what I am doing just like you, but I did say I was in the process of doing window shopping, so this not only, for me to reduce my food bill. I am looking, for property to buy, so I do not have to pay rent!

I am a software developer. I write tools for Braille, like an equivalent to liblouis for 8-dot computer Braille. My iPhone case is a 16-key mechanical keyboard, where the middle two colums of the 4x4 keyboard are 8-dot braille; and the other keys are chording keys like ctrl,alt,shift, etc. As far as my iPhone knows, it's a normal qwerty usbc US English keyboard. I 3D print the best 8-dot Braille templates that exist; because the one that APH made is wrong in so many ways, mostly in not taking the stylus tip size into account. You can parameterize the printouts if you like bigger or smaller cells than standard; or want to make a huge template to cover your entire page. I created 8-dot font files for web fonts and normal installed fonts (truetype, woff, etc). The best way for computer programmers to think of Braille is that it's "Just A Font", which is literally true for 8-dot computer Braille. I am not fluent in UEB, and I have almost no interest in it; as it is such a burden on software developers. I love 8-dot Computer Braille, especially in Linux terminals; where there is no translation whatsoever. 8-dot computer Braille is a very consistent extension of 6-dot computer Braille. All of my Orbit devices use Computer Braille as the default; but don't bother to really document it well. A tool that really needs to exist is a Web Developer Mode to look like a screen reader with a 20-cell screen. Instead of rendering the chars as Braille Dots, it should render as normal ASCII characters. This is how developers should ensure that Accessibility mode actually WORKS correctly. If they have to learn contracted Braille, this testing will never get done. Other uses for Braille is to just think about screen-less devices. A pair of headphones could be an actual cell-phone with no screen at all. The Screen Reader should be rich enough for normal people to use voice and headphones only. That way, we can start making computers for which the screen reader is on 100% of the time, with no way to turn it off. Like standard in, standard out, standard err, standard screen. Only then will screen readers ever get easy to use. Once this happens, we will have some hope of Braille devices becoming cheap. You need to be able to buy them at Walmart, due to enough sighted people using Braille just to read at night in the dark; or interface with devices with no screen. IE: SMS reply without looking at your screen at all, while walking around.

Glad too see I’m not the only visually impaired RUclipsr. Videos like this is so relatable in so many ways like not being about to drive yourself places or seeing what you said somebody looking at you from across the room I done a video on what it’s like being a visually impaired Christian. Yea it’s got its perks like sweeping the floor have to go over it a few times I’ll say some folks would go crazy not being able too see well enough to drive to and from it’s the end of the world had I let my visual impairment stand way I would not be able to work on things I enjoy.

I know this may sound stupid, because I am not visually impaired, but I imagine that reading a book using braille while eyes closed and sitting in the dark, may help to visualise the story better in my mind, because I am not distracted with the visual stimuli.

Thank you for sharing this info. I have a question about something else… Who would I contact about movies or shows having Audio Description? What I’m specifically talking about is who I can talk to about having descriptive put on all movies or shows that are released today. I love horror movies, but when I go to see them, some of them don’t have the description and it makes the whole event disappointing. Many times it isn’t even on the DVDs, but streaming networks will sometimes add it to the movie or shows later and it's wonderful. I just feel like when I actually go to a theatre, I should be able to enjoy the movie because it has the descriptive. Anyway, Do you know who it is I should talk to about attempting to remedy this situation?

This was so relatable for me as a fellow VIP who went to public school. I also felt like I noticed the difference between myself and my classmates more as I moved into older grades and there were many times when I couldn’t see something that someone asked me about but I didn’t explain that because it just seamed like to much work and a bit imberissing to do so. Really cool teacher of yours who let you rearrange the classroom like that. I’m sorry to hear that the college you attended didn’t do a better Job of letting yiu know the process for signing up for accommodations. I worked as a student in my college’s access office and I want to work in hire education accessability services and its always disappointing to me how some colleges don’t have a good system for notifying student about their accommodations process.

I had a similar experience, I went to a new ophthalmologist not too long ago and was shocked to find that he not only knew about both of my eye conditions but treated each of them often before which gave me way more confidence and I also spent my childhood and younge adulthood being told that since my conditions were rare I need to stick with one doctor so I haven’t done much looking to others. Glad you found one that works well for you.

I have a question because I can't seem to find a video with the information, perhaps I’m just missing it in people's videos though. What is the Braille symbol for the hashtag, pound, or used to be number symbol? I’m talking about the symbol that looks like a slightly slanted Tic Tac Toe board.

In Philippines if you got the money you can get driver's license if you're visually impaired I know a lot of people only those wealthy got the driver's license they paid huge money for it. Me even if I pass the written exam and 20 vision on my right eye they don't allow it. They even have backdoor on the law of driving license I hope it will changed this corrupt law in Philippines. It's a very good thing that in foreign Countries they are fair to those people like us even their law are equally process while in some part's of Asia it's not like that.

ADVICE NEEDED: Thank you so much for this video! Would you (or anyone here in the comments) happen to know what to do with books you can't get a large print of? I have some older books I need to read if I want to go to college but the print is waaaay too small. I can't make it five pages without a headache. It was printed a while ago so there's no large print, audiobook, e-book, etc. ways of reading it. I tried bringing it to Staples and asking them to print it page-by-page, blowing it up larger but they said they can't do that because of some kind of copyright rule. I'm at my wits end. Please, if anyone knows how to fix this I really need the help. The best I've got is to ask other people to read to me but it's not sustainable. Thank you all in advance!

Thanks for sharing this video. I am visually impaired and was considering an iMac. I found the features to be awful in comparison to a PC. It is frustrating to have to keep enabling Zoom. With a PC, once you open the Magnifier and select what works best, you're done. The magnification works across all apps, windows, websites, etc. I guess it's just my personal preference, but I don't want to keep hitting a control button or placing the pointer over text to enlarge it. I prefer for things to just be BIG - lol. I appreciate your video and wish you the absolute best!
